Five people were hurt, one critically, Tuesday evening when a car slammed into a doughnut shop in Gardena.
The other four victims suffered minor to moderate to injuries, L.A. County Fire dispatcher Ed Pickett said.
The incident happened about 7:20 p.m. near Western and Marine avenues, Pickett said.
The business is the Donut King II, according to aerial news footage.
Two people were trapped for some time before they were extracted by emergency personnel, Pickett said.
All five people were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
It was not immediately clear why the car went into the shop.
