Best: Oh. That’s what defense looks like.
The Ducks put on arguably their best defensive performance of the season against a high-powered, albeit struggling, Dallas offense. Defenders gave little room for the Stars forwards to work with while entering the zone, the backcheck was effective, and most importantly, zone exits were relatively clean for the most part.
Perhaps the most telling sign of the Ducks defensive prowess this game was their positioning in their own end, giving the players the ability to sweep away any dangerous second chances given up by John Gibson.
