Anaheim carried the play in the opening five minutes of the game and was rewarded with an early power play. The Ducks’ less than stellar extra man unit was up against a lackluster Canuck penalty kill. Something had to give. While it did work out in the end, the first opportunity was not one to remember. Carlyle sent out a group of Wagner, Grant, Vermette, Bieksa, and Lindholm as the second unit. As a fan might expect, this did not result in much offensive pressure.
