Mobile blood units will be onsite for individuals who wish to donate blood during the tournament, which had 101 teams battling in 18 different divisions last season at Irvine Inline. To date, the Give Blood Play Hockey tournament has collected 1,673 pints of blood and donated more than $500,000 to CHOC Children’s. The tournament currently has a goal to raise enough donations to break the $600,000 mark and collect 2,000 pints of blood.
Tournament divisions range from youth to adult and are split between various skill levels from beginner through advanced. The tournament also offers a Pro division for the highest level of players as well as a Women’s division.
