The Ducks appear to be diving back into the old defenseman cupboard for help on the back end. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman has reported that Anaheim has signed Luca Sbisa and that he is on waivers. Details of the contract were not immediately available.

Sbisa was drafted at number 19 overall in the 2008 Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. Considered one of their top defensive prospects, he played 39 games with the Flyers before being traded with Joffery Lupel in the infamous Chris Pronger deal at the 2009 Draft.
