Ducks Sign Defenseman Pettersson to Three-Year Entry-Level Contract

The Ducks have signed defenseman Marcus Pettersson to a three-year entry-level contract beginning in the 2015-16 season. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Pettersson, 19 (5/8/96), began the 2014-15 season with Skelleftea AIK (Swedish Hockey League), going scoreless in 14 games. Pettersson also appeared in 20 games with Skelleftea’s Under-20 team, recording 2-8=10 points. The 6-2, 165-pound native of Skelleftea, Sweden was loaned to Vita Hasten (HockeyAllsvenskan) for the remainder of the season. He scored 2-2=4 points with 16 PIM in 10 games to conclude the regular season.

Selected by Anaheim in the second round (38th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Pettersson has appeared in numerous international tournaments for Sweden.
