The NHL postponed the Ducks' game against the Washington Capitals on Friday because of a severe snowstorm in the Washington, D.C., area.
A makeup date will be announced as soon as it can be confirmed, the league said in a statement.
The Ducks, who arrived in Washington on Thursday, were leaving for Detroit shortly after the postponement was announced Friday morning, a spokeswoman said. They play the Red Wings on Saturday.
Friday’s game-time initially was moved up to 2 p.m. PT to give Anaheim time to depart quickly after the game.
