First Period:
Even though the Avalanche got the first for shots of the game and clearly looked like the better team, the period quickly took a different look. Right after the average Bieksa turnover, our old friend Beauchimen took a slapshot right into Jakob Silfverberg’s shins. The Swede led a two on one rush and snapped a shot home over Varlamov’s glove hand.
A minute and a half later, the Avalanche were quickly able to tie the game. Manson and Lindholm could not figure out who should take the puck in the neutral zone, which lead to a Nathan MacKinnon breakaway goal and a 1-1 game.
