Former Clippers owner Donald Sterling has filed a lawsuit against TMZ and former girlfriend V. Stiviano over the leaked recordings of Sterling making racially charged remarks that led to him being stripped of his ownership of the team.
The lawsuit, filed last week, alleges that Stiviano recorded a phone conversation between herself and Sterling in September 2013 and that subsequently she or her associates provided the "illicitly" recorded conversation to TMZ, in violation Sterling's right to privacy.
On the recordings, which were published by TMZ on April 25, 2014, Sterling scolds Stiviano for associating with African Americans in public and warned her to not attend Clippers games with black people.
