Tough business, baseball. Yesterday’s hero is today’s option back to the minors.
Ian Thomas, who made his first career start Friday and earned the win against the Mets, was optioned back to triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday to make roster room for Zach Lee.
This time, it’s Lee’s turn to make his first career start.
The Dodgers’ troubled rotation is causing all kinds of roster havoc. Lee will become the team's 14th starting pitcher this season, the most for the organization since 1952.
Thomas was called up to make Friday’s spot start and pitched better than the Dodgers had a right to expect.
