Court services could be affected Monday after an early morning blaze erupted inside the Pasadena Courthouse.
Firefighters responded about 1:30 a.m. to a fire alarm on the third floor of the Los Angeles County courthouse at 300 E. Walnut Ave., said Lisa Derderian, a Pasadena Fire Department spokeswoman.
When firefighters arrived, they battled flames and discovered containers of hazardous materials, including wood varnish, nearby, she said. Soon after, firefighters from Burbank and Glendale’s hazardous materials team were called to the scene to investigate.
A firefighter was treated when he became sick after inhaling chemicals, Derderian said.
