One of the principal architects of the Ducks two Stanley Cup Finals runs, Bryan Murray, has lost his battle with colon cancer at the age of 74 years old.
Murray coached in the NHL for 18 seasons with the Washington Capitals, the Detroit Red Wings, the Florida Panthers, the Ottawa Senators, and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. He was also a veteran front office executive, having held the position of General Manager with Washington, Florida, Anaheim, and Ottawa.
Murray coached the Mighty Ducks for the 2001-2002 season before assuming the title of General Manager the following season for the team’s cinderella 7-game Stanley Cup Finals run.
