The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art’s new “Picasso: Creatures and Creativity” is up and running at the resort with a work from Pablo Picasso that’s never been shown to the public.
The piece, “Profile of a Woman with Blue Hair” from Nov. 1, 1938, features Dora Maar, one of Picasso’s lovers. The portrait, part of the Picasso family estate, shows what the gallery calls “the eccentric and dramatic relationship between the couple using a dark palette, distorted eyes, sharp angles and straight lines.”
The exhibit features 43 works from the cubist’s body of works. Inside, find 19 lithographs, 13 linocuts, eight paintings and three rare plates, each telling a different story that follows the career of Picasso.
