He didn’t really take hold in the NHL until the 2005-2006 season. Even then, he was greatly overshadowed by already legendary J. S. Giguere.
Bryzgalov’s biggest contribution to the team at that point was standing up for teammates like he did when Chris Pronger returned to Edmonton after forcing a trade to the Ducks.
