The African American Film Critics Assn. announced that it will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the films "Boyz N the Hood" and "New Jack City" with an all-star tribute and concert celebrating the hip-hop cinema genre at the association's annual awards ceremony Feb. 10 at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood.
"Hip-hop has had a global impact on pop culture and influenced millions around the world," Gil Robertson, the association's president and co-founder, said in a statement Monday. "And its impact on Hollywood has been a major game-changer in front of and behind the camera and at box office.
