Israel's army struck a target in Syria on Friday, killing at least four people, according to military and government officials.
Shortly before noon, an Israeli aircraft targeted a vehicle in the northern area of Quneitra in the Syrian Golan Heights, some six to nine miles from the border.
Friday's strike, the second since four rockets were fired from Syria into Israel on Thursday, targeted part of the cell responsible for the rocket fire, according to a statement from army spokesman Peter Lerner.
Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon said hitting the rocket cell proved that Israel would not tolerate attempts against its citizens' security.
