NHL teams went absolutely bonkers on the first day of free agency dishing out well over $600 million worth of contracts to players.
As expected the Anaheim Ducks elected to stay on the sidelines rather than giving out ridiculous amounts of money and term to players who, in many cases, don’t deserve it.
That was the smart thing to do, too, because the Ducks simply can not afford to go on a spending spree.
The Ducks currently have less than $16 million in cap space.
