The twenty-four year-old (23 during his one NHL game) defenseman played 16 games for the Ducks' organization last season before being traded away.
Jesse Blacker was originally the property of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who drafted him in the second round in 2009 but never dressed him for an NHL game. They traded him to the Ducks in November 2013, and between the two franchises he played exclusively in the AHL up until this season. Barely a year after the Ducks acquired him, he made his NHL debut during the great Ducks defensemen injury plague of 2014.
