PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the 36th annual AVCA Division I All-America Teams and two players from The American were named to the Honorable Mention Team.
Sophomore Jordan Thompson of Cincinnati and senior Morgan Heise of SMU both were named to the Honorable Mention. For Heise, it is the second straight year to be named Honorable Mention by the AVCA and it is Thompson’s first All-America honor in her career.
Thompson became the first unanimous Player of the Year and became the first player in American Athletic Conference history to reach 1,000 career kills in her sophomore season.
