PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The American Athletic Conference announced the women’s soccer awards for the 2016 season, which were voted on by the league’s 10 head coaches.
Stephanie Ribeiro was a unanimous selection to be this year’s Offensive Player of the Year. Saga Fredriksson of UCF and Toriana Patterson of UConn took home Co-Defensive Player of the Year. UConn’s Rachel Hill and Tulsa’s Rachel Thun were named this year’s Co-Midfielders of the Year. Emily Armstrong won Goalkeeper of the Year. Evelyne Viens won the Rookie of the Year honor. Co-Coach of the Year went to UConn's Len Tsantiris and SMU's Chris Petrucelli.
