IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors, for the week ending Sunday, April 4.
Player of the Week
Sydney McKinney * Jr. * IF * Wichita State
McKinney claimed American Player of the Week honors for the second straight week after another hot weekend at the plate for Wichita State in a four-games sweep at Memphis. She batted a conference-high .714 (10-for-14) and added a home run, four RBI, three stolen bases and six runs against the Tigers. McKinney opened the series 3-for-4 with a home run, stolen base, two RBI and a pair of runs scored on April 1.
