Wichita State was unanimously voted into the American Athletic Conference on Friday for the start of the 2017-18 season, according to Sports Illustrated's Pete Thamel and ESPN.com's Brett McMurphy.
An official announcement is expected Friday once paperwork is finalized.
According to Thamel, the Shockers sought to bolt from the Missouri Valley Conference in favor of the AAC "in part because of the chilly reception they’ve received from the NCAA tournament selection committee."
