Memphis improved to 25-8 on the year after taking two games Tuesday against Alcorn State. Game one remained scoreless through three innings before the Tigers capitalized in the bottom of the fourth. Four runs in the fourth combined with one more in the fifth and sixth innings lifted the Tigers to a game one victory. In windy conditions, Memphis rattled off a pair of doubles by Ashley Threatt and Rebeca Melton in game one. Molly Smith pitched a complete game shutout in game one with eight strikeouts to improve to 14-3 on the year.
