PHILADELPHIA - E.J. Warner came off the bench in the second quarter to complete 14 of 19 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns as Temple delivered the first career win for head coach Stan Drayton in a 30-14 victory against Lafayette Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.
Starting quarterback D'Wan Mathis engineered a three-play scoring drive on Temple's first series, but the Leopards stymied the Owls through the first and second quarters, forcing two fumbles, getting a stop on downs and getting a three-and-out.
The Leopards took advantage of the short field after Temple's first fumble and tied the game at 7-7 on Julius Young's 12-yards touchdown catch.
