GAINESVILLE, Fla.—USF women’s soccer went on the road and defeated Florida, 4-2, in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship in Gainesville, Fla. Out in Pullman, Wash., Memphis fell to Washington State, 1-0.
Evelyne Viens of USF (15-4-0) broke The American single-season record for goals after scoring a hat trick against the Gators. Viens scored late in the first half in the 43rd minute, before scoring twice early in the second in the 52nd and 55th minutes. Viens now has scored all seven of the Bulls’ goals in the postseason, including four in The American Championship.
