DALLAS, TEXAS – Second-seeded UCF defeated No. 3 UConn, 1-0, in the American Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Championship semifinals Friday evening at Westcott Field. The Knights advanced to the championship game with the victory and will face the winner of fourth-seeded Temple and top seed SMU Sunday at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT. The game will air live on ESPNU.
The two teams were tied 0-0 at the half and the score remained that way until Yoni Sorokin found the back of the net in the 72nd minute to give the Knights a 1-0 lead.
