DALLAS – UCF and Wichita State reached the semifinal round of the American Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Championship for the first time, while Tulsa and SMU made it to the semifinals for the fourth straight year to highlight Thursday’s competition on the SMU campus.
UCF, the No. 1 seed in the tournament, reached the semifinals with a 4-1 win against Tulane Thursday. No. 5-seeded SMU knocked off USF, last year’s tournament champion, with a 4-2 victory in the quarterfinals, while No. 2-seeded Tulsa won a 4-1 decision against Memphis to leave the Golden Hurricane one win away from a fourth straight appearance in the final.
