UCF Powers Past Cincinnati, 14-10, in First Game of 2021 Baseball Championship

CLEARWATER, Florida – UCF, powered by a nine-run eighth inning, defeated Cincinnati, 14-10, in the first game of the 2021 American Athletic Conference Baseball Championship Monday, May 24, at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, Fla.

The top of the lineup for UCF (29-28), consisting of Gephry Pena, Jordan Rathbone and Josh Crouch, combined for seven hits, seven RBI and six runs scored, including a mammoth 3-run home run to left field by Rathbone which capped the big eighth inning.

Paul Komistek hit two home runs (his eighth and ninth on the season) and drove in five for Cincinnati (29-25), but it was not enough as the Bearcats left 13 runners on base.
