PALM COAST, Fla. – UCF (6-under 284) has a six-stroke lead after the first round of the 2017 American Women’s Golf Championship Sunday afternoon at the Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach Resort & Golf Club.
The Knights’ round of 284 is the lowest 18-hole total in American women’s golf championship history. Houston, the defending conference champion, held the previous lowest round mark with a 285 set at Hammock Beach’s Ocean Course in 2016.
Senior Ashley Holder (-3, 69), who is tied for third overall, leads three UCF players in the Top 8 after the first 18 holes of play.
