IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s soccer awards for the first week of the 2022 season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Courtney Sebazco, Gr., M, SMU
Sebazco scored the game-winning goal from outside the box in a 2-1 win over Rice on Thursday, August 18 and provided an assist on the Mustangs’ goal in a 1-1 draw at No. 11 Tennessee.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ashley Barron, Sr., D, Cincinnati
Barron anchored the Bearcat defense that posted two clean sheets, including a win over Northern Kentucky and a scoreless draw against Michigan State.
