FORT WORTH, Texas — Yaxel Lendeborg produced one of the best games in American Men’s Basketball Championship history as No. 3 UAB defeated No. 6 East Carolina, 94-77, in the quarterfinals on Friday evening, March 14 at Dickies arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
With the win, the Blazers (21-11) will face No. 2 North Texas in the semifinals on Saturday, March 15, at 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT on ESPN2 and ESPN+.
Lendeborg became the first player to record a 20-point, 20-rebound game in Championship history with 30 points and 20 rebounds. With the 20 rebounds, he also tied the single-game rebound record, matching the mark set by Houston’s J’Wan Roberts against Memphis in the 2013 final.
