Twelve from The American Nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year Award

Twelve student-athletes from the American Athletic Conference were nominated for the 2016 NCAA Woman of the Year award, the NCAA announced on June 21.

Avery Acker (SMU volleyball), Carolina Carmichael (Memphis track), Alyssa Drachslin (Temple volleyball), Kendall Frey (East Carolina soccer), Frida Gustafsson Spang (East Carolina golf), Erika Hurd (Cincinnati track), Lilla McMillan (Tulane track), Christal Peterson (UCF track), Emma Roberson (Cincinnati volleyball), Jackie Simpson (USF soccer), Breanna Stewart (UConn basketball) and Morgan Tuck (UConn basketball) were all nominated for the prestigious award from American Athletic Conference institutions.

The NCAA Woman of the Year award honors graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in academics, athletics, service and leadership.
