Marc Scott became The University of Tulsa's second track and field national champion as he took the lead and pulled away down the stretch to win the 10,000-meters at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships on Wednesday evening at historic Hayward Field. The redshirt senior won the event with a time of 29:01.54 as he earned his eighth all-American honor.
"I thought some guys might separate earlier, but the slow race is what I've done all year," said Scott. "Sit and sit for as long as I can and then really go after it for the last 400-600m.
