The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced that Tulsa linebacker Zaven Collins has been chosen as the National Defensive Player of the Week for games ending Nov. 21.
Collins delivered the big play in OT — a play being called the “Pick 96” in Tulsa, to give the Golden Hurricane a 30-24 win against Tulane in two overtimes. With Tulane at the 3-yard line on its overtime possession, Collins intercepted a pass at the 4 and broke free for a 96-yard touchdown to end the game, capping a day in which he also had a game-high 15 tackles.
