MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Top-seeded Tulsa won its second consecutive American Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Championship with a 4-0 win against No. 2 seed USF on Saturday afternoon at the Dunavant-Wellford Tennis Center on the campus of the Memphis University School.
The Golden Hurricane's Renata Kuricova outlasted Vanja Klaric, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 5 singles to clinch the match and the NCAA automatic qualifier. Saana Saarteinen was chosen as the tournament's Most Outstanding Performer as she combined for a 3-0 record at No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles in the tournament.
Tulsa began the match by taking the doubles point with victories from its top-two doubles teams.
