UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Tulsa held on to defeat Memphis, 60-55, in the opening game of the 2017 Frontier Communications American Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Championship at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Tulsa led by as many as 14 points in the first half before Memphis trimmed the lead to single digits in the third quarter. The Tigers tied things up in the fourth quarter at 43-43 on a jumper by Loysha Morris, capping a 7-2 spurt, before the Hurricane took a 9-0 lead and a 50-43 advantage over the next two minutes to hold on to the lead for good.
