Tulane and UCF both gained ground in the second College Football Playoff rankings of the season, setting the stage for Saturday's showdown between the American Athletic Conference's two ranked teams.
Tulane was ranked No. 17 in this week's ranking - up two places from its No. 19 showing last week. UCF advanced three spots to No. 22 after the Knights stood at No. 25 in the first ranking.
