DALLAS - No. 1 UConn and No. 8 East Carolina squared off in the second quarterfinal matchup of the American Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. CT. UConn, the 2015 regular season conference champion, claimed a 3-1 win over the Pirates to advance to the next round of the tournament.
Junior forward Rachel Hill put the Huskies on the scoreboard first, giving the team a 1-0 edge in the second minute of the match. Hill is one of two recipients of the 2015 American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year honor.
