The American In Super Bowl LI

The New England Patriots made history in Super Bowl LI, turning in a remarkable come-from-behind victory against the Atlanta Falcons.

For the Patriots, who practiced at the University of Houston in the week leading up to the game, it was a homecoming of sorts for linebacker Elandon Roberts, who was a first-team American Athletic Conference selection in 2015 with the Cougars and a key part of Houston's Peach Bowl championship team.

Roberts had two tackles in the Super Bowl against Atlanta, becoming the third player to have played in The American to earn a Super Bowl ring, joining former Tulane standouts Lorenzo Doss and Taurean Nixon, who were members of the Denver Broncos' 2015 Super Bowl championship team.
