FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 4 Temple scored the first 11 points and did not look back, defeating No. 12 seed Charlotte, 65-34, in the quarterfinals of the 2025 American Women’s Basketball Championship on Monday afternoon, March 10, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
With the win, Temple (20-10) will play No. 9 seed Rice in the semifinals on Tuesday, March 11 at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT on ESPN+. It will be rematch of a 2024 semifinal won by Rice, 60-57.
Temple held Charlotte (11-21) to 21.0 shooting (13-62) and set an American Championship record with 56 rebounds, breaking the previous record of 55 set by UConn in 2018 and Houston in 2023.
