IRVING, Texas – After putting together one of the best performances of anyone in NCAA Division I softball this season, South Florida senior pitcher Georgina Corrick became the first American Athletic Conference player to advance to the Top 3 Finalists for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award. USA Softball unveiled the 2022 Division I national player of the year finalists on May 18, with Corrick being the only pitcher remaining in contention for the honor.
The USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year is voted on by coaching representatives of 10 Division I conferences in the 10 USA Softball regions, members of the media who consistently cover Division I softball across the country as well as past winners of the award.
