SMU's Klein Shatters 3-Meter Meet Record on Day 1

HOUSTON – SMU junior Bryce Klein set the 3-meter diving meet record twice on Day 1 of the 2017 American Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at the Campus & Wellness Recreation Center Natatorium on the campus of the University of Houston.

Klein opened the 3-meter event by setting the meet record in the preliminary round with a score of 424.05. In the finals, the native of Southlake, Texas, shattered his own record with a winning score 436.45. Following Klein was Cincinnati’s Louie Hunt (320.30) and UConn’s Dan Kinney (316.70).

In the 200-yard medley relay, SMU took gold in both the men’s and women’s events.
