ATLANTA -- SMU basketball coach Tim Jankovich has been named one of 10 national semifinalists for the 2017 Werner Ladder Naismith Men's College Coach of the Year award, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Friday.
No. 14/19 SMU is 26-4 overall, and has won 12 straight and 22 of its last 23 games. SMU leads the American Athletic Conference with a 16-1 record, and has clinched at least a share of the title and the top-seed in the conference tournament. SMU is 17-0 at home this season and have won 21 straight at home dating back to last season, which is tied for third among active NCAA home winning streaks.
