FORT WORTH, Texas (Oct. 7, 2020) — The Davey O’Brien Foundation has announced that SMU senior Shane Buechele has been selected as the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback of Week for his performance during the fifth week of the college football season.
On Saturday, Buechele guided the Mustangs to a 30-27 victory over No. 25 Memphis by throwing for a career-high 474 yards and posting a personal-best 501 yards of total offense. Through the air, he completed 32 of 46 passes with three touchdowns and no interceptions as SMU moved to 4-0 on the season. He also added 27 rushing yards on seven carries.
