PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sixteen American Athletic Conference football players are among the 336 prospects who will participate in the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine March 2-5 in Indianapolis.
Eight of The American’s 12 teams will have at least one participant at the combine in 2018. UCF, which was the only unbeaten team in FBS football last season, leads The American’s contingent with four players, while Memphis has three.
American Athletic Conference players have fared well at the combine in the conference’s brief history. UConn’s Byron Jones (12 feet, 3 inches in 2015) and Obi Melifonwu (11 feet, 9 inches in 2017) hold the combine’s top two all-time marks in the broad jump and are third and fourth all-time in the vertical jump.
