Six American Athletic Conference quarterbacks are among the 43 players nationally who were named to the 2016 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list.
The American's players on the list include Gunner Kiel of Cincinnati, Greg Ward Jr., of Houston, Quinton Flowers of USF, Matt Davis of SMU, Phillip Walker of Temple and Dane Evans of Tulsa.
Kiel threw for 2,777 yards and 19 touchdowns in 10 games for Cincinnati last season, helping the Bearcats finish as the conference leader in total offense (537.8 ypg). Kiel averaged 277.7 passing yards per game and completed 65.2 percent of his attempts in 2015.
