PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference saw a record four selections in the first round of the 2020 Major League Soccer Superdraft on Thursday, including two picks in the top 20.
SMU's Garrett McLaughlin became just the fifth top 10 pick in the conference's seven-season history upon being selected eighth by the Houston Dynamo. UCF's Cal Jennings was taken 17th overall by FC Dallas, with UConn's Dayonn Harris going 20th to Real Salt Lake and Temple's Simon Lefebvre 21st by DC United.
