GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Led by Patrick Stephenson's tie for first place, the ECU men's golf team took top honors at the ECU Intercollegiate, outlasting Georgetown by one stroke to take the team title.
The Pirates used a 10-over par effort on Tuesday to catch and pass the Hoyas, finishing with a team score of 21-over par (295-292-298 - 885).
For ECU, it was the program's first tournament title under head coach Andrew Sapp.
Stephenson, Campbell's Amarin (Ray) Kraivixien and Georgetown's Sam Madsen tied for first-place at 2-over-par with Madsen claiming medalist honors on the second hole of a sudden death playoff.
