MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis took advantage of its home court surroundings and Tulsa ended Florida Atlantic’s 16-match winning streak to set up Sunday’s championship final in the American Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Championship at the Leftwich Tennis Center.
The No. 6-seeded Tigers, who entered the tournament with a 6-13 record, strung together their third straight win to handle Rice in a 4-2 victory. The Golden Hurricane, which is no stranger to the championship final, won a marathon match against previously unbeaten Florida Atlantic, taking a 4-3 decision.
Sunday’s championship final will be a rematch of the 2022 final, when Memphis scored a 4-1 win on Tulsa’s home courts.
