Houston's Quentin Grimes Named Third-Team All-American by Sporting News

Houston men's basketball junior Quentin Grimes has been named a third-team All-American by Sporting News.

Grimes became the first Cougar to earn All-America honors of any kind since Gee Gervin received Honorable Mention in 1999. He became the first Cougar to be named to one of the first three Teams since center Hakeem Olajuwon was a Consensus pick and Michael Young received Second-Team honors in 1984.

Grimes was recently named one of 10 Semifinalists for the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy for Player of the Year. The award is given by the Atlanta Tipoff Club to the nation’s top collegiate player.
